1/8" Hinge slots have been cut into Vertical Stabliser ready for MS Stainless Steel piano type hinge.

This photo shows tube bracing of vertical and horizontal tail sections.

Note bracing tubes are currently 3/8" dia x .035 wall (6061-T6) with .125 attachment angles (2024-T3).

This may be upgraded to 4130 steel tubing and angles as the alluminum tube is pressed  at each end to accept attachment angles and over time with flying loads the pressed tube ends could develop stress cracks.

This image shows underside of tail section with elevator horn/push-pull tube attached, elevator trim horn/trim cable attached, rudder horn with cables attached (cable ends are adjustable for correct lenght via AN turnbucles at this location).

Tailwheel is a Matco type solid rubber wheel (steerable) via standard steer chain/springs attached to rudder horn.

Hinge installed into Vertical Stabliser, pin is 3/16" AN bolt with castle nut and split pin.

This photo shows lower alluminium tail bracing (this may also be upgraded to 4130 steel material).

 Note horizontal stabiliser attachment to fuselage this is via 4 x .125 2024-T3 1" 1/4 x 1" 1/4 angle material.
