Internal fuselage prior to installation of fuel tank and instrument panel etc.

Front Boot Cowl installed, this covers fuel tank (11gal).  The Boot Cowl is attached with self tapping screws at rear into instrument panel bulkhead and rivenuts at front into firewall surround.  Boot Cowl can be removed easily to access fuel tank.

Covered Fuselage prior to Silver UV coating, cable exiting rear of fuselage is a Morse Teflon cable for in flight elevator trim.

Underside of fuselage showing elevator push-pull rod, rudder cables and internal structure prior to fabric being applied.

Internal view of fuselage tail section showing rear nylon cable guide bushings for rudder and cut section in fuselage side for elevator  push-pull tube and trim cable. Note this section has clear 2 pack spar varnish only and has not been coated with any colour (paint) for ease of inspection when fuselage is fully fabriced. Access to this area is via a removable top fuselage cover (aluminium) see yellow section at top of photo.

Undercarrige is painted & installed, Brake lines have been routed from Pake Brake on firewall down thru bottom of firewall & attached to fuselage belly, thay will then be routed internaly down thru main undercarrige legs to Disc Brake.

This photo shows Bungies wrapped & tired, a vinyl cover boot will be installed around each leg to help protect Bungies from elements during their service life.

This photo shows Fuselage being painted with Stitts Poly-Tone (finish colour is "lemon yellow") after application of Poly-Spray (UV silver) I applied 2 light coats of Poly-Tone "Insignia white" as a base for the yellow.

Final installation of fuel tank. Note fuel sender at top rear of tank. Tank is held in place with 4 x S/Steel bands - 2 under and 2 over tank

A Bulkhead type fiiting is installed thru instrument panel main bulkhead and attaches to fuel lines at top rear section of tank on left and right side of tank, this is in place for fuel line pick up from wing tanks if required at a later time.

Finish colour on fuselage, sunburst pattern on tail.

Fuselage shown with front Boot cowl installed  over fuel tank area. (windscreen not yet fitted) and engine mount installed. Firewall side of fuselage is now completed and ready for engine installation.

Cowling will be made once engine is installed as it has to be a pressureised type for proper engine cooling; It will be an aluminium lower base and top with a mid section hing to allow access either side with a fibreglass nose bowl.(Same style as standard on early Piper tube/fabric aircraft).
