Steel bushing has been epoxied in place at the 4 engine mount attachment points on fuselage firewall.
Firewall forward nearing completion, engine mount jig in place ready for engine mount to be tack welded (TIG). Engine mount will be made from 4130 round tubing - 5/8 x .058. Note height of engine mount jig, this is important as the engine has a re-drive unit which mounts the prop 5.5" above cranksharft centre line which in turn has to keep the thrust line in the desired position down fuselage. Firewall side now completed and ready for engine installation. All fuel/oil lines and engine monitoring sender cables are located on left side of firewall. All electrical wiring exits thru top mid section of firewall and connects to main power bus and common ground bus on top right side of firewall. Battery mounts in tray at top mid section of firewall, Master C/D Solenoid installed top right side. Also an earthing braid strap runs from main ground bus to engine mount. |
